A weapons cache detected in a local man’s house

INGUSHETIA, October 29, Caucasus Times – A large weapon cache was found and seized by the police in a private house in Ekazhevo village of Nazran district in Ingushetia.

The disguised weapons and munitions cache was discovered in the house of local man Yevloyev by the police and regional FSB agents while conducting search operation, the Interior Ministry of Ingushetia said in an interview with the Caucasus Times correspondent.

There were two RPGs with several dozens grenades, 450 grams of explosives, 1 assault rifle, over 400 rounds to a sniper rifle and a few boxes with rounds of various caliber in the cache, the police said.

The owner of the house has been detained and at the moment is being interrogated. Criminal case is open, under investigation. “According to our information, the suspect was linked with the local Wahabbists,” an Interior Ministry officer said. “The weapons and ammunition was apparently intended for members of illegal armed units acting in the territory of Chechnya,” the policeman said
