Airport police chief assaulted in Nazran

INGUSHETIA, February, 17, Caucasus Times – An attempt on the life of the airport police station chief was carried out yesterday at about 10 p. m. in Nazran, the Interior Ministry said in interview with Caucasus Times correspondent.

Unknown attackers opened assault rifles fire upon Hamid Hamkhoyev, police station chief of Magas Airport, as he was driving his car back home, the Interior Ministry said. Mr. Hamkhoyev did not suffer in the attack. The criminals left the scene right away.

The law-enforcement agencies’ officials do not comment on the incident, saying a criminal case is opened, under investigation.
