Anticrime police department officer murder in Makhachkala

A police officer was reportedly killed Monday night by unknown suspects in Makhachkala. The officer served in the Department of Anticrime police of Dagestan Interior Ministry.

According to INTERFAX agency report citing duty officers in Kirovsky local police department of Makhachkala, at about 10.40 p.m. Moscow time near Airportovsky highway two unidentified suspects opened assault rifle fire at Capt. Mohammed Mekhtumov and immediately left the scene. The victim died of mortal wounds on the spot.

The prosecutor’s office and Interior Ministry detectives conduct investigations into the criminal case.
