Business forum in Dagestan to boost regional economy

DAGESTAN, February 17, Caucasus Times – A business conference is due to begin on May 26 in Makhachkala said Mohamed Mogamedov, chairman of the State Council of Dagestan speaking at the meeting of the republic’s Cabinet February 16, Caucasus Times correspondent reports citing press service of the government.

The project of the forum has been backed up by Russian President’s administration office, Putin’s envoy to the South Region, the Ministry of economy and trade and the Ministry of regional development, said Mr. Magomedov.

The republic’s authorities hope the business forum would help in boosting the region’s economy.

The project seeks to become a catalyst for building a strong civil society and defending democratic values, helping to train new professional journalists and fostering international cooperation.
