Federal forces convoy ambushed in Ingushetia

INGUSHETIA, September 1, Caucasus Times – Insurgents ambushed Federal Forces convoy yesterday’s night near Barsuky village, Caucasus Times correspondent reports citing a reliable source in Interior Ministry of the republic.

An officer said on condition of anonymity the attack came at 7 p. m. at Barsuky, Kavkaz federal road. The unidentified militants ambushed the armored vehicles convoy firing assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades.

Initial report said there were military and civilian casualties in the attack. The Interior Ministry officials declined to comment on the incident.
