Ingush minister charged with embezzlement

INGUSHETIA, 6 October, Caucasus Times: The prosecutor’s office of Ingushetia has launched a criminal case against the republic’s minister of youth policy, sports and tourism [Issa Ozdoyev]. He is charged with embezzling R5.2m [195,000 dollars] which were earmarked for organizing holidays for children.

The official received the money in June 2005 and misused it, the republic’s law-enforcement agencies said.

The case is being investigated.
