One more sports and health centre will be constructed in Karachaevo-Cherkessia

KARACHAEVO-CHERKESIA, 5 December, Caucasus Times. Construction of a new modern sports and health center started in the mountain village of Psyzh in Prikuban district of Karachaevo-Cherkessia.

Press service of the President of Karachaevo-Cherkessia informed CaucasusTimes correspondent that decision concerning the construction of a new sports and health centre was made by President of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Mustafa Batdyev and later supported by the parliament of the republic.

“Construction of the seventh sports and health centre in the republic is completely in line with the task set by the Russian President Vladimir Putin, which presupposes the development of sport in Russia. In the meantime, this is one more step aimed at realization of the republican law “On guarantees of rights of indigeneous small people of Abazins in Karachaevo-Cherkessia” – the thing is that around 95% out of the 5.5 thousand population of the village are Abazins”, – press service indicated.

Ten millions rubles were alloted for the construction from the republican budget. Sports and health complex will be constructed using the most advanced modern technologies. Construction is planned to be finished in May 2006.
