Public organizations buy books for refugees

CHECHNYA, March 14, Caucasus Times – Humanitarian public organizations of Chechnya raised money to buy over 400 books for refugees living in a camp in Sunzhensky district of Ingushetia.

The humanitarian action was carried out by The Committee for refugee’s rights”, regional public organizations “Coalition” and “Nakhcho”.

The activists delivered to Sleptsovsk schoolbooks, fiction and science literature to organize a local library, the coordinator and director of the Committee Aslanbek Apayev said in his interview with Caucasus Times correspondent.

Goal Our main goal is to promote the development and sustainability of independent media in Central Asia and the Caucasus. We aim to strengthen the region’s informational sovereignty by expanding access to truthful sources and raising media literacy. At the same time, we support the development of national languages as key elements of identity and cultural heritage, encouraging public discussion and engagement. The project seeks to become a catalyst for building a strong civil society and defending democratic values, helping to train new professional journalists and fostering international cooperation.
