“Satsita” camp comes under RPG fire
INGUSHETIA, November 11, Caucasus Times – In the evening of November 10, “Satsita” tent camp for Chechen refugees was fired upon by the Russian troops deployed close by.
At about 5 p. m. a blast came on the territory of “Satsita” camp in the vicinity of Ordzhonikidzevskaya village of Ingushetia’s Sunzhensky district. Fortunately, it produced no casualties in the camp.
“Approximately at 5. 45 p.m. I have heard a blast. I think, it was a rocket-propelled grenade fire and the projectile probably blew up in the air. The people got panicked, running out from the tents with their children. Nobody knew, what was going on. They were afraid, the shelling would go ahead, but there were no more explosions,” says Mr. Daudov, a leader of refugees Public Council.
The witnesses confirmed, the shell came from Russian military base deployed nearby “Alina” camp. The locals believed the “law-enforcement agents” celebrated and saluted their professional holiday, “Day of Police.”
“We have already filed a complaint addressed to the prosecutor’s office of Sunzhensky district of Ingushetia to investigate into the case. Today experts and detectives are expected to come to conduct investigation at the site,” a member of the Chechen Council told the Caucasus Times agency.
