Suspect In Boston Bombings Indicted

PRAGUE, June 27, 2013. Caucasus Times/ U.S. grand jury has formally indicted the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings.

The federal jury indicted Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on 30 counts, including using a weapon of mass destruction that resulted in deaths.

Three people were killed and more than 260 wounded in twin bombings near the finish line of the marathon on April 15.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s older brother, Tamerlan, died following a shoot-out with police four days later as authorities raced to capture them.

Dzokhar was injured and captured.

Authorities say the brothers used shrapnel-packed pressure-cooker bombs in the attack.

They are also accused of later killing a police officer.

Nineteen-year-old Dzokhar Tsarnaev faces the death penalty or life imprisonment on 17 of the counts
