Suspects in attempt on deputy’s life identified in Russia’s Dagestan

Dagestan, 4 July, Caucasus Times: An investigation has managed to identify suspects in an attempt on the life of Magomedguseyn Nasrutdinov, a member of the Dagestani parliament and the chairman of the board of directors of the Daggaz [Dagestani gas] company.

A source at the law-enforcement agencies has told a Caucasus Times correspondent that they are residents of Buynakskiy and Levashinskiy districts and that their names are not made public for investigation reasons. Measures are now being taken to arrest them.

At the same time, we support the development of national languages as key elements of identity and cultural heritage, encouraging public discussion and engagement. The project seeks to become a catalyst for building a strong civil society and defending democratic values, helping to train new professional journalists and fostering international cooperation.
