Temporary antiterrorism operational headquarters established in districts of Dagestan

DAGESTAN, September 27, Caucasus Times – The Chairman of State Council Mohammed Ali Mohammedov speaking at his meeting with local administrators held Monday to enforce counterterrorism, extremism and anti-crime measures in the republic underscored the situation as very tense according to the information reported from high-mountainous regions of the republic. “We are deeply concerned in particular over the situation in some towns and villages. Local administrations must be more active enforcing counterterrorism measures,” Mr. Mohammedov said.

The republic’s governor ordered to establish in the shortest terms temporary operational commands led by local administrators and municipalities in towns and districts in accordance with the decision adopted by the republic’s antiterrorist commission on September 9.

We aim to strengthen the region’s informational sovereignty by expanding access to truthful sources and raising media literacy. At the same time, we support the development of national languages as key elements of identity and cultural heritage, encouraging public discussion and engagement. The project seeks to become a catalyst for building a strong civil society and defending democratic values, helping to train new professional journalists and fostering international cooperation.
