Trial of criminal charges against investigator to begin in Cherkessk municipal court

KARACHAY-CHERKESSIA, January 28, Caucasus Times – Trial of the criminal case of an investigator of the Interior Ministry who is charged of assisting criminals arrested for the murder of seven businessmen perpetrated in November last year is to begin today in the municipal court of Cherkessk.

Kamal Veziyev, officer of the city police department, according to prosecutor Artur Batchayev, was allegedly consulting the arrested killers how to behave during interrogation.

Natalia Privalova, presiding judge intends to complete the examination of the matter by February 7.

The Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against 16 suspects in the notorious assassination case, including several policemen and the mastermind of the crime Ali Kaitov, former son-in-law of President Batdiyev of the republic.

At the same time, we support the development of national languages as key elements of identity and cultural heritage, encouraging public discussion and engagement. The project seeks to become a catalyst for building a strong civil society and defending democratic values, helping to train new professional journalists and fostering international cooperation.
