Vandals desecrate graves of World War II veterans

DAGESTAN, February 21, Caucasus Times – Unknown vandals desecrated graves of the veterans of the World War II at a cemetery in Makhachkala, Said Kammayev, chairman of a public veterans organization was quoted as saying. The defilers painted swastika on the tombs of Alexandr Sitkovsky, Sultan Alisultanov, Rizvan Suleymenov and Salikh Halilov, the four Heroes of the Soviet Union and veterans of the Great War with Nazis, Mr. Kammayev said.

The veteran organizations of the republic have sharply condemned the action of vandalism. The law enforcement agencies said they would track down the barbarians.
