325 cases of crimes connected with illegal drug trafficking have been identified in Karachaevo-Cherkessia

KARACHAEVO-CHERKESSIA, 19 January, Caucasus Times. In 2005 members of the Drug Trafficking Federal Control Office in Karachaevo-Cherkessia confiscated 40 kg of drugs from illegal drug trafficking. 7 kg of drugs were confiscated from the legal drug trafficking. This information was given to Caucasus Times correspondent by the press service of the Drug Trafficking Federal Control Office in Karachaevo-Cherkessia.

There were identified 325 crimes related to illegal drug trafficking; out of this number 238 crimes were characterized as grave or extremely grave.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against 139 persons involved in crimes related to illegal drug trafficking. 65 persons have been sentenced. 519 persons were made answerable for being under the influence of drugs in public places.

Drug Trafficking Federal Control Office in Karachaevo-Cherkessia established a “trust telephone” functioning during 24 hours through which members of the Office receive any information related to drug trafficking and drug use.

At the same time, we support the development of national languages as key elements of identity and cultural heritage, encouraging public discussion and engagement. The project seeks to become a catalyst for building a strong civil society and defending democratic values, helping to train new professional journalists and fostering international cooperation.
